Easy DIY picture frame project!

Here we go again, salvaging something destined for the landfill! This perfectly good old window seen on PointClickHome.com finds new purpose as a cool frame (showing off man's best friend) with just a little elbow grease and a coat of paint.

Materials
Old window; drop cloth
Painters tape
Newspaper
Eco-safe paint stripper
Two fine synthetic brushes
Wood primer
Sandpaper
Paint
Two cabinet knobs
Adhesive tape
Picture-hanging kit

Directions
1. Place a drop cloth under the frame and remove any pieces of hardware. Protect glass with newspaper affixed with painters tape.

2. Remove layers of old paint with an eco-friendly paint stripper; follow manufacturer's directions on the label.

3. Working with a clean, dry frame, brush on a coat of primer. Follow directions for drying time and reapplication. Allow the frame to dry. If dark spots bleed through, apply another coat of primer, but sand down any rough spots first. Remove dust, then apply second coat of primer and allow to dry.

4. Apply a light coat of paint with a clean brush. Let dry, then rub lightly with fine sandpaper. Remove dust, then apply one more coat of paint. Let dry.

5. Drill holes for knobs on the bottom corners of the frame and attach.

6. Enlarge pictures or artwork to size of window panels and affix with tape.

7. Attach the wire from the picturehanging kit to the back of frame according to the manufacturer's directions.
