Easy Money

user

We're all wanting to make a little extra cash these days aren't we?

Well the article here on Shine was helpful, giving advice to sell crafts and our books and the like. But I have another idea that's just as easy and quick if you're crafty.

If you're like me, you probably get attached to some of the things you make after they're done or they don't come out quite right and aren't quality enough to sell.
Bummer, right?

Instead of selling your crafts, why not sell craft supplies? For example; I'm a quilter, and have lots of fabric on hand in scraps. It's good condition, but there's not a lot of it left for really doing anything with.

So what I do is I take a bunch of fabric and cut it with my Olfa rotary cutter and Omnigrid template, and I cut it into squares and I group it by color or by type of fabric.
I just sold 100 squares of denim fabric cut from jeans to a lady who loves to make denim quilts. I cut it into 6" and 3.5" squares, and grouped them together then put an ad on craigslist, gyspybug, and I also put an ad on my Yahoo Group's page. It's a crafter's group, so we're always selling and swapping with each other.

I've actually sold two batches of denim squares, and have made close to $30 just like that. I get denim free from the Christian organization I volunteer in, my husband, friends, and of course, myself. I cut it up and it's easy money!

I'm also in the middle of cutting regular calico fabric into 2.5" squares and 3.5" squares to sell.

I also sell craft supplies I don't use; I tried the Knifty Knitter and making jewelry, and decided it wasn't my forte. So I put those on craigslist, and sold them straight away.

So I guess you could say it's like having a craft garage sale over the internet; and it's loads of fun, and your overhead is minimal because craigslist is free, you've already got the stuff in your house, and all you have to do is meet the person or mail the goods to them.

You can also get in on sales at craft stores and buy things 75% off then resell them, or buy things in like-new condition and resell those too.

Heck, if you begin making good money, you could open a free website on Facebook, freewebs, blogger, etc. and have a hayday.

I wish you luck, and if you like this post please let me know. Also, if you have other unique ideas about making money, I'd love to hear those too.
