Eliminate odors inexpensively

Are you tired of buying air fresheners every few weeks to cover up mysterious odors in your house? Well, I am. After doing a bit of research, I found three methods to help me solve my problem inexpensively. With the help of some friends, I tested these methods and will share my results with you.

Method 1: Vanilla spray
Good
Fill a spray bottle with a vanilla extract and water mixture. Spray around the room to eliminate offensive smells. Results: The vanilla mixture smelled amazing, but didn't manage to eliminate the odors. Though it seemed to work initially, I had to keep respraying it.

Method 2: Cat litter Better
Fill a small box with cat litter. Designed to absorb smells, this grainy substance can be placed in a box in a smelly room to "eat" odors. Results: The cat litter absorbed most of the foul odors, but it took a few days. Source: Associated Content

I think the vanilla spray sounds the most delicious....but my mind also went to "What other extracts could I use....." hmmmmm I think I will try this one b/c I do have a cat, and I think I would be wasting a lot of perfume

    hi,

i think fresh frangrance of flowers like sampaguita or ilang-ilang

or camia helps improve the smell of rooms in the house.

besides maintaining cleanliness like removing mildew nd molds.

Everyday I put cinnamon in a sauce pan and put it on low heat for about 5 minutes and then make a pass through the house with the pan. It smells amazing.

Here's an idea....why don't you open the doors & windows and air out the house? It's better than cheap; it's FREE. I do it regularly, even in the middle of winter.

burn candles. They absorb a lot of odors and if you use scented candles, you get the fragance too. Best method to eliminate cigarette smoke from a home.

I cannot wait to try that cinnamon trick. I do like to open doors and windows, especially right after lawn is mowed. But something nice like cinnamon is also relaxing. Peonies are in bloom here now and they are wonderful to bring in. In winter I use a good incense occassionally.
