From The Vault: vertical bathroom storage

The 70s gave us a few doozies, i.e. bell bottoms, KC & the Sunshine band, Sonny & Cher's comedy show. Fortunately, a couple of groovy design ideas made it out alive too. Like this bathroom outfitted with old school lockers–perfect for storing your linens, extra supplies or laundry.
Steal this idea in your own space.
PBteen's locker tower, $299, is an updated version of the 70s variety. Available in modern silver, navy blue and white, the locker towers have four fixed shelves and adjustable levelers on tower feet to fit in any space.

I can't afford $300 for a locker. Where can I get one for $50?

Hi Lucy,
Ikea makes some good locker options. They're $99, which is sort of a compromise, right? The "PS cabinet" comes in red, silver, or white, and is available in a similar tall, narrow version, as well as some lower and wider options. Check them out!

I'm sorry, but I just can't make my adult self think that's cool. I would have loved it when I was 16, or even in college, but now? I would like something a little more chic thanksomuch.

Novemeber's House and Garden issue showed Aquavit owner Marcus Samuelsson's house in Harlem. He had a very eclectic and adult home with the a vintage locker setup too.
do anchor links work in the comments section? because here's a pic of it.

I'm no teenager, but I am a teacher, and I think the lockers are a good idea. I can see using them in a cabana or work-out room. I'm always looking for places to store things. I could even use some lockers in my classroom, as there is never enough built-in storage. I wonder if they have old lockers at school district warehouse sales.

don'tforget salvage yards for picking up lockers and such. Also, contact local school boards to ask where they dispose of extra inventory.
