Give the gift of a tree

Good news: Yes, you can do something about global warming! It’s surprisingly simple and it actually makes a great gift. Just plant a tree. Besides providing beautiful foliage and cooling shade, trees help trap ozone layer-depleting CO2 emissions, minimizing the effects of climate change.

Planting is a cinch with Mokugift. You don’t have to dig deep into your pockets or even lift a shovel. And it’s as easy as sending an e-card. For just $1 per tree, Mokugift will plant a tree in the country of your choice. (Trees are planted in areas where they’re most beneficial to the environment, like Burundi, Nicaragua and India.) Want to inspire others to do the same? Plant a tree in a friend’s name and Mokugift will notify the recipient and invite him or her to also plant a tree.

Mokugift is a partner of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Billion Tree Campaign, whose goal is to plant seven billion trees by the end of 2009. What’s stopping you?  Click here to plant a tree for charity.
