Helping Others Out By Writing Their Resumes

OK, so I am interested in what your opinions are on this.  I am considering putting an ad in my local paper to write resumes and reference sheets for people.  I have been told I am very good at it.  I took several classes on it in college.  I was just wondering if you think that people would be interested in that type of service.  As a HR director myself, I can tell you that MANY of the resumes I've seen come across my desk have been very poorly written.  I would say about 25% of them did not contain some sort of mistake.  I'm not judging anyone; I'm just saying that maybe they don't have time to create a proper resume.  That would be where I come in.  I still have to figure out what my rates would be etc.  Anyone have any ideas on that?  Do you think I would be successful in trying it?  I appreciate your thoughts.  Thanks

    Yes, do it! That is a fantastic idea.

    Many times, people don't get the job they really desire because their resume just doesn't convey the proper information.

    Sounds like you are on your way to some great extra money.

    I think it is a wonderful idea. The HR person at my mother-in-laws work revamped mine.No one knows better than an HR person on how to write a resume an HR person wants.

    Look and see what the resume writing fees are online and be cheaper by a few dollars. Also have an extra charge if they want a cover letter.
