How Much Power Do We Have in the Universe?

A few weeks ago I was having a conversation about life, karma, and the choices we make. The conversation started out with work. A manager for the company I work for, we'll call him Jim, has been complaining about a position he got that he didn't want. The importance in this is the fact that another manager, better qualified for the position, who has been with the company 25 years, did not get that position. In fact, she is now out of a job. He didn't want that position for a number of reasons, the market is not the ideal market for New York City and so it does not generate as much profit as other markets. He also made it perfectly clear that that he had no desire in working with the person in charge. He wanted something exciting, where he could be successful. The other manager, we'll call her Jane, had mentioned that she needed change. That she had given the company 25 years and it was time for something different.

Here's a perfect example of "you get what you put out." Jim put it out in the universe that he wanted a place where he could be successful. The universe provided him with a market where he needs to be creative and aggressive to be successful. Jane asked for change. It gave Jane the push she needed to move on to something different.

Some people might say this was pure coincidence. I invite you to consider that when you ask for something, you take a thought, desire or emotion which is all internal and you put it out to the universe in the form of spoken word, it in turn makes sure we receive that which we've asked for. It might not be in the exact form we wanted but it always provides.

We are so keen to let emotions cloud our thinking when we get what we "need" instead of taking a moment and think about why we want what so many times will not satisfy us. A person once said, it is part of our maturing process to accept what is in our best interest as opposed to continue to look for what we want at the moment. Once we realize that what we want will only keep our interest temporarily, then we have the clearing to embrace what we need and can begin on a very satisfying journey.

So, to answer the initial question of how much power do we have in the universe, the answer is in the question. We only have to realize it!
