We had a Bonfire Party. We offered pop, juice, and water. We had marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers for Smores. (We had a container of baby wipes on the table.) We had fruit kabobs: strawberries, blueberries, can chunk pineapple, and mandarin oranges on sticks (see below), fresh veges and dip, potato chips, Doritos, and brownies. Someone brought chocolate chip cookies, (thank you) and someone else brought a bag of giant pink and white marshmallows (cool).
We had a homemade pinata, an Easter egg hunt in the dark, played flashlight tag, and of course, we made a campfire.
Cost:
- the price of the food, approx. $30.00
- a bag of balloons, paint and paintbrushes for the pinata, bags for the fallen candy, $7.00
- candy and coins for the Easter Eggs + candy for the pinata, approx. $9.00
- Labor involved - touching up the bathroom, shopping for food, filling up the Easter eggs, baking brownies, cutting up veges, and putting fruit on sticks.
So, go ahead and bring that Radio Disney outside, and throw a Bonfire Party. It really is not a lot of work.
Tip of the day: Mandarin oranges fall off the fruit kabob
sticks. Skip them.
