Spelling Manor

"I spent four years, 24-7, planning this house," says Spelling. "Now I need something smaller – just for me." Candy plans to move into a 17,000-sq.-ft. condo. "I'm going to have to give up some things, but it's time for a change."

People
Candy Spelling, widow of producer Aaron Spelling and mother of actress Tori, has put her $150 million mansion up for sale. With 73,000 square feet, Spelling Manor is the largest home in Los Angeles, and boasts five acres of land, a tennis court, a pool, a beauty salon, a screening room, and a bowling alley among other things.

This got me thinking: If you could have any luxury in your home, what would it be? Personally, I’d love to have a home theater to watch movies and TV.

What would you love to have, if money and space were no object? An aquarium? A collection of famous artwork? A Starbucks counter? A home gym? Browse through this slideshow of Spelling Manor for inspiration, and tell us what you'd want in your dream home. [People]

hell I would be happy with a dishwasher at this point in life and a maid to go with it -- I dont spend my life sitting around my house, I am out living my life!

I WOULD LIKE A 15X15 SHOWER WITH AN OVERHEAD AND 2 OR 3 SHOWERHEADS IN EACH WALL.

I would want a HUGE kitchen, GIANT bathroom and ENOURMOUS bedroom. Lots of space to move around... the home theatre sounds pretty good too.

Nothing too extravagant for me, just space to move and breathe.

I would want a large, personal work room with lots or counters and cupboards for all my art supplies. And a nice large kitchen and cook to go with it would be nice.

I would have a HUGE bathtub, huge shower, and a large bedroom that could hold 2 king size beds put together. (my husband is very tall) And a huge backyard with an outdoor kitchen. Thats all.

about a thousand square foot closet...that way maybe my clothes would not be all crammed together and i could actually find shoes when i want. (i have shoes on the back of all my bedroom doors and more stuffed under each rack of hanging clothes. Pitiful!)

and a huge storage closet or walk up attic where i can find stuff like x-mas decorations, etc.

and a three season porch, and the gift wrapping station looks cool.

I would want a large office just for writing: two desks (one with a computer connected to the internet, another just for typing), a huge bulletin board for setting and character photos, several big bookcases for reference material, a small refrigerator with snacks and sodas, and a nice stereo for music. And I'd get a big beanbag chair from LoveSac and a futon. It would probably need to be sound proof too.

I think I've thought this through a little too much...

We are moving soon and all I asked for was 2 bathrooms and a fireplace. I got 5 bathrooms and the fireplace. Beyond that, I'm all good. The house came with a gazebo in the back yard and a privacy fence all the way around, built in bookshelves and is 4 times larger than the house we sold when we moved 3 years ago to a different state. anything beyond that would be greedy and selfish.

    1. A nicely equipped home gym with a full weight circuit, a rowing machine, a treadmill, and a recumbent bike.

    2. A maid.

    3. A small home theater.

    4. A half of an Olympic size in-ground pool.
