We had a roof leak during the rain recently,
and I was fumbling to call someone, anyone. I finally got
someone on the phone, and was informed that I could have found the
liaison to our Home Owners Association in the phone book.

I did not think of manually looking in a physical
phonebook. I had been doing my searching
online. Which prompts me to ask, Does anyone in this era
utilize the phone book? I mean the actual - they deliver
to your home- big, usually yellow in color (in some areas) phone
book. Think I may take a survey. *wink

I looked
around the house here, and found a couple of phonebooks, both
outdated (2002 newest one). Sure enough, there in the
white pages, were the numbers I was looking for. Who
would have known? I do recall when I was in my youth, that we had
phone books, but we would just call information. Name and
city was all they required to get us an immediate number
on the person, place or thing, we were looking for. Now
for a certain dollar amount, we can still retrieve that information
through our phone services *411.

Of course, with
our new technology and the information highway, we just attempt to
locate who and what we want with a few taps on the
keyboard. And, to our delight, we can usually find
it.

But, there is something to this phonebook
which you should keep current, I might add. Now if we
could just get them to have larger print.
