If your life seems empty and you feel useless in solving the
problems that face you, you might want to look at it another way.
You now have the incredible opportunity to address that
emptiness and be useful by deciding, disciplining, and diligently
pursuing a good life.
Here are steps that you can take:
1.Decide
How will you live your life, doing what is most important to you? Consider the things beyond your daily need for food, shelter, and the means to pay for these things. Instead, consider the people you care about. What are they worth? Are they of great value to you and others? Would you do everything within your ability to provide, protect, and prepare them to live a good life? Answer those questions and you will no longer feel empty.
2.Discipline
Who will stand by you and help you stay the course? Few people have the capacity to truly discipline themselves. It can be developed in you but you may need others to assist you. If you already have discipline, offer your ability to someone who is struggling. Teach them in a gentle facilitating way. They will appreciate you, and you will begin to appreciate your efforts more fully. You will see value and no longer feel useless.
3.Diligence
When you want to give up, what will you do to keep moving forward? You will need to stand up and look for the end result of all your hard work. Make yourself a promise and protect it. Then, tell someone dear to you that you resist emptiness and uselessness. Make a new claim that you are pursuing a good life. Repeat it often and it will become contagious. You will be pleasantly surprised by how many people will respond to your words of encouragement.
I hope my words have helped you in some way. Let me know
your thoughts. I have overcome impossible odds throughout my life.
I am still here and still living a good life. I write about my
experiences in my book, My Unsung Psalm.
