Life in Sin City and your city

Life in Sin City and Your City: Hi everybody. As some of you already know, I live in Las Vegas. The first question that many people have upon hearing this is, of course, what's it like? The answer is that it is ordinary. In a good way.Once you are away from the Strip, the city has the same old stufff as other cities- tract housing, strip malls, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, Shell gasoline. This may be Disneyland for adults, but we who live here do go home to real neighborhoods. My question to you Shiners out there is, what makes your city/town/village/rural area different? What unique things are present that set you apart? Stores, brands, habits, names, etc.? I already know from trips to San Antonio that many businesses use the Alamo for inspiration. I saw an Alamo Dry Cleaners once!  And in the South they drop the "d" from iced tea, calling it "ice tea". This is a big nation, and we often strive to be one. But we have our differences, and that's good. Who would want a completely homogenized nation? Unlike some countries, we are able to (usually) have these differences peacefully. So what's going on out there?

Well Spam, If it fails to make chatter go to edit save as draft than edit again and post this. Works for me.

The big thing here now is collapsing roofs. Not what you are looking for?Well also great for hiking hunting rivers and lakes galore.

Slap ski type activities and a smorgasbord of state and federal parks and that is my home.

    now!

    Oooh, can I say "Hades"?

I live in Southern Illinois. The area is known as "little Egypt" because of its location between two major rivers and its rich, fertile farmland. We have the best of both city and country living. I live 80 miles from St. Louis so I can indulge in most any cultural endeavor I desire. But we also have the Mississippi river and Shawnee National forest for the country in us.

Hi conesu. You're not that far from Memphis, too, correct? That's

one of my favorite cities, too.

Hi Nestle. Yes, they do call it West of the Strip.

The migration has slowed with the economy. Now Utah is the fastest

growing state. Scenery, clean air, clean living- what's not to like.

And if they want to take a dip into LV it's a short drive. Kinda like

our attitude towards LA. We can experience California without the cost.

I've seen Buffalo and Albany. Had a "beef-on-weck" once. Roast beef

on a certain kind of German bread, right?
