Making that leap...

At the end of this week, I hope to launch my new photography business web site. For some reason, I'm as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs! My babies, er, I mean my photographs will be "out there" for the world to see. Will people like them? Will they like them enough to buy them? Are they good enough? Oh yeah, in addition to nervousness, I'm having bouts of self-doubt as well.

Why am I putting myself through this, you may ask? Well, photography is my first love. I've had a camera in my hands since I was eight years old. It all started with a trip to Disney World with my family. I took several photos and once they were developed, my mom, who is also a photographer and painter, commented that I had a good eye. For an eight-year old girl, that was a bit puzzling at first. I was wondering what was wrong with my other eye... she then went on to explain what she meant.

Ever since then, I've taken photographs on vacations and simply around the house. In college, I studied photography and even had the chance to take a few photos for the college newspaper. Later on, I took photos at a conference center for their print materials and web site. Nowadays if I go somewhere without my camera, I feel positively naked.

I photography mainly nature - close-ups and landscapes - in color as well as black and white. I try to capture the quiety beauty that surrounds me. Little things you may not notice, I bring out in my photos. Needless to say photography is a part of me - deeply ingrained in my heart.

Now it's time to share my love with the world. It's time to leap!

Hi - When I read your post, it reminded me of a dream I would like to become a reality, at some point - Taking the leap to show others my photos - I am an amateur photographer as well, just keep taking photo after photo and choosing the best ones ... I place these photos in a photo album that I call my "Progress Album" ... To see where I started and to see where I am heading ... For some reason, I cannot subscribe to anyone's blog ... I would like to hear back from you ... Please drop me a line on my blog ... Good luck with EVERYTHING !!!!
