While many people find Moore's films to be self-aggrandizing, we appreciate that the filmmaker takes risks by bringing vital issues into the public eye and opening them up for scrutiny. His unique, "insider" depictions of topics we care about typically leave us with a more in depth understanding of them. Moore does the work, comes up with potential alternative solutions, and above all, gets us thinking. Whether his perspective is subjective or not, learning more about important topics and opening up a public discourse gets us motivated to pay attention to what's going on in the world and want to make a difference.
Michael Moore's new trailer is, not surprisingly, a sarcastic jab at the big banks and companies who have gotten us into the financial mess that led to our current recession. Are you interested in what Moore will present about the economy? [EW]

Report AbuseWhy doesn't he look at our immature society that has to have everything now and will use unsound methods, besides saving, to have it now? He doesn't (and nobody else) ask the correct questions. Like what if we used maturtity and actually read the contract and asked questions? Why don't we save for thing like down payments, major purchases, and have our own resources when we need it? And why can't anyone be happy having a family, food, and job? Why do we need more? That there are many less affluent counties where everyone is happy but poor by our standards. But we are so very rich and have it all and nobody is happy? What is wrong with this picture?
