My favorite time of the year " The Best Of Both Worlds "
I was sitting and thinking one day and I
thought, "What is my favorite time of the
year?" Well I thought, I love the winter because
traditionally we celebrate Christmas which
is symbolically Jesus Christ's birthday.
On this day the Lord our God gave the world his only begotten son
Jesus so that his life may save the world from sin. At
this time of the year family gatherings and the spirit of giving
gives some of us a sense of giving to reflect that God gave his
gift of Christ to the world. This is a time for family
gathering, good times and good food, the things that memories
are made of. It is also a time when it snows in most Northeast
parts of the Country. Although the snow is cold it represents crisp
clean air, the time when germs die and it seems to be an ending
preparing for a new begining. And seeds lay hidden beneath the
soil pulling towards the earth's core where there is a
inner warmth, hiding from the cold chill of the snow, the ice and
the wind. The snow and ice covering the earth is such a
beautiful sight to behold. Ahhh.... that certainly leaves me
with nice nostagic feelings As I thought further about
my favorite time of the year I remembered a Rose bush that I
had at one of the houses I lived in, as I thought about the
bush I was reminded how in the Spring I would sit on the front
porch and marvel at the bush's first buds it was always so many
and with very bright red tops peaking out from beneath a green
jacket of tiny leaves attached to a small delicate stem. As I
sat there I would often hear a soft birdsong with a beautiful
melody steady and sweet ahhh... so peaceful and at that moment
always a soft breeze would blow and I would get a whiff
of the most sweetest smell of the essence of the rose buds
this I must say is a wonderful time of the year where
there are new beginings and fresh starts a time when you
can plan, prepare and plant for the seasons to
come.
