My Proposed Cure for the Economic Crisis

user

I propose what I think will be the cure for our current financial crisis. Instead of cutting funding to our public schools (yeah, I'm not done getting on my soapbox about that one but more on that another time), I suggest we instill an ignorance fine for when people say and do ignorant things. Now, let's not mistake this for the stupidity of people. After all, stupid people can't help being stupid. They just are what they are. Besides, if it wasn't for stupid people, the rest of us wouldn't look so smart. I'm talking about ignorance. You know, we could pass out fines everytime anyone makes a racial comment or hurtful comment of any kind, or when you let someone pull out in front of you in traffic and they don't at least wave or nod or something to acknowledge a thank-you. Like is it really too much effort to lift your arm and flip your wrist in a kind gesture? If I had just cut you off instead of let you in, your arm would have gone up quick enough and you'd have made the effort to flip me the finger. Or when someone looks right at you as you push a baby stroller and juggle two other children, yet close the door on you instead of holding it for two more seconds to let you in. Or when the male sales associate at Home Depot won't stop looking at your breasts long enough to make eye contact when you ask him where the tool kits are (yeah, I nursed three babies and now my breasts are huge, so what? Quit staring for God's sake!). Or how about the parents dropping their kids off at school who totally ignore the rules of the car loop, not to mention the speed limit, because they are ignorant enough to believe that the rules only apply to the rest of us but not them. Yeah lady, like I don't have better places to be, too. Let me guess, your kid is the one who won't follow the rules in my daugther's classroom and is always being sent to the principal...in Kindergarten! Wonder where he learned it from.
If we were able to issue ignorance fines for these and so many other blatantly ignorant things that people do, we could use the money collected to not only bail out Wall Street, the banking industry, and homeowners, we could pay for the next generations' college educations in full and hopefully eradicate ignorance completely. Feel free to point out any other examples of ignorance I may have overlooked...Lord knows they are everywhere....
