My resolution is to START lying about my age
I had this on my mind when I <a rel="nofollow" title='User post:
Do you "Shine" at work?'
href="http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/money/user-post-do-you-quot-shine-quot-at-work-341562/"
target="_blank">came into work today
</a><span><span><span><span><a

href="http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/money/user-post-do-you-quot-shine-quot-at-work-341562/"
target="_blank">(<span title='User post:
Do you "Shine"
at work?'><span title='User
post: Do
you "Shine" at work?'>yes...I
"Shine" mostly at
work!)</span></span></a></span></span></span></span>
and then I saw that <a rel="nofollow" title="User
post: If I Could Turn Back Time"
href="http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/sex/if-i-could-turn-back-time-343597/"
target="_blank">Alice</a> had it on hers too.
Long story short, <a rel="nofollow" title="My
post: And what's NOT on
my list"
href="http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/and-whats-not-on-my-list-340388/"
target="_blank">I quit my job for four months and then took a
lower paying job</a> so now in addition to that, I work part
time at a take-out restaurant. <br><br>After
a few months there, I have figured out who's going to tip
(families and business men) and who might tip if I make
eye contact and a little friendly conversation (middle-aged
men). These older guys usually end up asking me where I
go to school (I can look kind of young) or why I moved here from a
different state (my name tag shows my
hometown). <br><br>I can't
lie. It's actually a problem of mine
to share too much personal information with anyone who
asks, so of course I tell them the truth. I tell them I
moved here to go to school and I graduated two and a half years
ago. The second it pops out of my mouth I realize it
makes me AND my college look bad (it's like a flashing
sign: Do not send your kids to this local school, they'll
end up working for minimum wage!!). <br><br>I
immediately want to back track and tell them my whole story so they
get that I'm not JUST a cashier. Last night this
happened and I thought for the first time, hey maybe it would be
easier to just tell people I'm still in school (but over 21
so they don't call the ABC and try to get our alcohol
license taken away when they see me pouring a beer,
haha).<br><br>I'm not embarassed by my second
job, I'm enjoy it and am grateful to have it, although I
can admit I'm a little self-conscious of how it
looks. But in these times, you have to do what you have
to do...even if it means flirting with older men for a better tip
(my tips go to paying off my credit card, one of
my <a rel="nofollow" title="My post: My list"

target="_blank">New Year's
Resolutions</a>)!<br><br>Do you lie about your
age? Should I censor my life story for people who
don't really need the details? Any tips for
getting more tips? What do you do for extra money in
times like these?
