I'm naturally petite...(petite in every sense of the word:
5'1", under 100 lbs, and a 30A on a good day, with size 0
fitting me in most brands, although sometimes the 0 is too
big.)
Having launched a website, www.ItsyBitsyBraBar.com, and
having the wonderful opportunity to talk to many women who are also
petite, it seems like we are commonly underestimated!!
Why do small women have to be weak, fragile, and dense? Just
because we are not towering over a room or the same height as
"average" women, doesn't mean we are any less
intelligent, powerful, or ambitious.
What types of things have you had to do in your life to overcome
this stereotype? For example, when I was younger I just never
wanted to wear high heels--they were uncomfortable, and I
couldn't walk in them for the life of me. However, I wear
them more now because I feel I need to be on "equal
footing" when I got to professional or networking
events.
Share your stories and ways you have overcome the typical
perception of being a petite woman!
