This, to me, is the ideal blend of designed and wild. (A too-immaculate porch is usually not right for the home, but works great for a hotel or spa. See below.) I also really love the woven chairs; see Dwell.com's recent post for shopping ideas. [image: PJFurlong06/Flickr]
Here's a case where too-immaculate is just right. A generous dousing in white porch paint and a single, vibrant accent color make this one great. [image: configmanager/Flickr]
This shot reminds me of Jennifer's search for artfully rusted patio furniture. I think a run-down porch is downright beautiful, especially when it's styled so well. [image: Sarah Jane/Flickr]
Linda N. may have found the perfect balance between pulled-together and livable. I love the black rockers and the ceiling fan (crucial!), and the ample pillows on the facing bench swing. [image: Linda N./Flickr]

Report AbuseI thought the first porch looked junky. I couldn't find any artistic merit to the picture. The chairs are cool, but the wicker has rotted away from the frame. Doesn't make them very functional. I really like the last two pics.

Report AbuseI like the last one the most. I'd want to add plants though maybe in a bright color and then a favorite pet (black cat) napping in the swing.

Report AbuseWell, SumerTooGood, I wasn't sure from the photo if the chair was actually busted or if there was just something draped on it. Anyway, in my imagination, the chairs are in good shape, the light is soft, and you can smell the wildflowers. Call me a dreamer.

Report AbuseThe only porch I found to be interesting is the last one. I wouldn't even sit on the 3rd porch, because it is rusty, dirty, ugly, worn-out, and beat up!! It looks like it was hauled out of a junkyard for old furniture!! I would be embarrassed for anyone who even thought it was nice.

Report AbuseI didn't see the first porch until now. It is another disaster. Oh my goodness. The person who put these porches together has horrendous taste!!

Report AbuseI don't care for any of them although the last one would be good IF YOU COULD GET TO THE SWING! There's not enough room to maneuver around the rockers (which are already squeezed into the table) without being an experienced mambo dancer.
