Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today after paramedics responded to a 911 call and found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion. He was 50 years old.

While it would be hard to know from his last very rough years, Michael Jackson was once on the top of the world--the King of Pop. Despite years of tabloid gossip surrounding his increasingly odd appearance and behavior along with his trial and acquittal on child molestation charges, we would like to remember Michael as a pop icon who revolutionized music, fashion and dance throughout his career.

Michael Jackson entered the music world at 11 years old, as the youngest member of the Jackson 5 and began his increasingly successful solo career in 1971. "Off the Wall," "Thriller," "Bad," "Dangerous," and "HIStory," all rank as some of the world's best-selling records of all time. He is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time," with 13 Grammy Awards, 13 number-one singles and has sold over 750 million albums worldwide. Many claim he was one of the most famous men on the planet with a monumentally successful music career spanning four decades. Also, he could moonwalk. Michael Jackson's music continues to influence many talented performers to this day, and despite his passing, his boundless hits and unique style will be remembered forever. Rest in peace, we will miss you.

Stay tuned for our Michael Jackson greatest moments tribute.

Thank you for your report on the death of Mr. Jackson. Everywhere I looked today there were reports about how great he was, BUT they had to mention his trials and how eccentric he was. The man was a superstar, now is not the time to bring up the bad things about him. Celebrate his life, say good things. I think music would not be as great as it is without the influence of Michael Jackson. I grew up with the Jackson Five, my kids grew up with Michael. He is truly an awesome person. Lets forget all the bad things for a few days, and remember how great he really was.Rest now, Michael!

Wow. The comments posted here are absolutely astounding. Michael Jackson was a CHILD MOLESTER. It's amazing to me that the masses are so forgiving of pedophiles, murderers and thieves if the perpetrator has had his 15 minutes of fame. And for any of you who claim innocence on his behalf because there was never a criminal conviction you are seriously deluded. I wish no peace on him, I'll save those wishes for the children who's parents offered them up to a pedophile in exchange for money and gifts.

yeah, I'm with Sara... just because he is dead doesn't mean we can just forgive and forget all his antics. The man was nuts and a child molester nonetheless. Convicted or not, he had little boys sleep in his BED!!!

    Agree with Beebeeosh.

Sara the only deluded person here is you. Go take your hate mongering to Yahoo Buzz. You'd fit in there very well. Jackson probably did more for charities than you or any your following generations will ever accomplish. Respect the dead and their families.

    RIP Moonwalker

Yes Michael Jackson was troubled. But he was a great talent and I think his fans are grieving for his artistic loss. Plus the poor fellow just died so I wish people would respect his family's loss as well.
