WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A key U.S. Senate environment committee
approved a Democratic climate change bill on Thursday that would
require industry to cut emissions of carbon dioxide and other
greenhouse gases 20 percent by 2020 from 2005 levels. ...
Senator John Kerry, who co-authored the bill with fellow Democrat Barbara Boxer, is leading an effort with some Republicans and the White House to draft a compromise. ...
Calling the bill written by Boxer and Kerry "an excellent
starting point," (Exelon CEO) Rowe wrote, "We urge you as
chairman, as well as your colleagues, to take the steps necessary
to order the bill reported by the committee so that climate
legislation can be considered by the full Senate. ,,,
===========================
Well, I still haven't seen any science from these folks that
makes a compelling case for man-made climate change. Notice
I'm using the revisionist term "climate change" and
not "global warming." Why? The earth has been
cooling for a decade and, not coincidentally, so has solar
activity. Besides, "warming" is sooo
non-progressive. Isn't it odd that the only change that
Pfrogressives despise is climate change?.
Solar activity drives global climate. The impact of the sun
is many millions of times more potent in changing earth's
climate, and the sun is far from a steady-state operation. In
that context, our contribution, if any, is difficult to separate
from the natural trends.
One more thing about solar action on the earth. The
magnetosphere of the earth in decline. The strength of the
"dipole moment" has been "monotonically"
(steadily) decreasing over the last 400 years, and has diminished
almost 20% in that time. The location of magnetic
"North" and "South" are migrating, too.

Every so often (a long geological period), the magnetosphere
collapses and the poles "flip." (Santa will be operating
out of the South Pole, without moving at all.)

The magnetosphere is the only mechanism that the Earth has to
protect itself from the Sun's emissions. The Sun sprays
out (by the solar wind) both electromagnetic radiation (rays)
and charged particles (e.g,. electrons and protons).

Of course, some of the rays heat up everything they
touch. Unlike the rays, the charged particles tends to heat up
the surface of the earth only (and those of us on the surface), but
not clouds.
If manmade actions were a major cause of global warming, the
surface of the earth would not have cooled as it has. If
manmade actions were a major cause of global warming, the
temperatures of the upper atmosphere and clouds would be elevated,
which they are not.
How are we causing this? We're not. How can we fix
this? We cannot.
It is a fundamental truth that the cap and trade (climate change)
legislation uses a vague and unreliable global "average,"
to exact extreme changes in our country's way of life, while
other countries do nothing, except to generate more carbon dioxide
with impugnity.
The way to reduce manmade carbon emissions is to reduce every
activity that produces carbon dioxide: growing crops, raising
livestock, keeping pets, having children, exercising, using any
fuel to move from point A to point B .... all generate CO2.
What about electric vehicles etc? No help there.
There needs to be a power plant cranking out electricity and CO2 to
charge the vehicles. And each electric charge comes at a greater
cost than the current estimates suggest, because the electric
distribution system necessarily adds inefficiencies, decreases the
delivered power, and requires more electricity and CO2 to be made
to get the power to the point of use.
The entire cap-and-trade/global warming/global climate change scam
does little more than to give Al Gore his revenge for giving away
the 2000 Presidential election.

(Cap-And-Trade: Al Gore's Cash Cow)
The ocean generates far, far more CO2 than we do. How do we
fix that?
The bottom line is that Kerry and Boxer are paving the way for
their old friend Al Gore to make billions which, without a doubt,
will be used to support their future campaigns or, more likely, to
create nice feathered beds for each when they leave the Senate.
Congress is shoving through health care and cap-and-trade
simultaneously, as well as changing laws in employment,
environment, immigration, and reduction of civil liberties
(except for Gitmo prisoners), so that any opposition will be so
fractionated and stretched so thin, that an effective opposition
will be nearly impossible.
It should be noted that, once again, SEIU and ACORN are
deep behind the cap-and-trade because each can benfit in their own
way.
SPEAK UP AGAINST CAP-AND-TRADE!
