Shine light on your home workspace

One of these weekends, I keep promising myself, I will get to the one DIY project that is just for me: creating office space out of an unused corner of our bedroom. Since my oldest teen moved into what was my office/guest room, I have been a nomadic blogger/editor, moving from the office that holds the family desktop PC to the kitchen table to the dining room table and often, yes, to the couch.

I can picture my new office space -- I just can't seem to get the time to turn the vision into reality. But when I do, I want there to be plenty of light, and I want it to shine from a lamp I love. So I am on the hunt. I've scouted a few desk lamps on the web, though I will definitely keep looking for some better-priced lamps. Have you found any great lamp deals lately?

I like the shape of the shade and the horizontal pleating on this lamp, and the fact that it takes a 3-way bulb to go the extra-bright mile for my tired eyes. It's from Lamps Plus via Amazon.

Good lighting is so important! Since I do lots of "crafty" things, I hoped for a light that was most like natural light. As a result, I have a "don't", Dory. Don't purchase one of those floor lamps that look so cool set up in Lowes. I couldn't resist it when I saw the ads touting how natural the light was - just think! - sunshine when I needed it no matter the season. Darn thing is top heavy and makes me nervous as a cat thinking it's going to tump over. And sometimes it does!

I agree, good lighting is important but all the lamps you have shown are so conventional, if you can think outside the box, try something new, here is a brand new product that can be used anywhere, it is called upsidedown lighting. web address http://www.upsidedownlighting.com/RunScript.asp?page=47&p=ASP\Pg47.asp
