SNOW.... just another four letter word!

Living in Maine you'd think I'd embrace the white, billowy
puffs of fluff..... but alas no way! Age or changing attitude has
made me long for warm gentle breezes carressing my pasty white
skin. Though it seems like just yesterday I longed for more and
more of the stuff to cover the doorways .... of the school that is,
giving me more time to dig tunnels, make snowmen and create wet
puddles on the kitchen floor. Now one glance out the rattling
windows anytime from December to April can set me on edge to see a
white flake flutter downward.... have to admit sometimes it is
just dust! Then again the artist in me has never seen more
beautiful skies with shades of lavendar swirling in and out of cool
gray-blue clouds. Streams of evening's last hurrah of
sunlight cascading on the tops on newly fallen snow give the
neighborhood a "Currier and Ives" look. And God's
creatures.... deer, squirrels and the occasional moose getting
caught in the pristine view seen through my camera lens
makes me forget the backache received last night shoveling. So love
it or hate it you just must learn to "take" it,
especially here in Maine where it is just another winter day and
the soup kettle is on! Join me today in giving thanks for winter
snows.... we will make that four letter word for the day
