I was driving to work on Friday night to the Burlington Mall in
Burlington, Massachusetts. When I exited off the ramp of Route 95,
I didn't expect to see what I had saw. Just as I passed
underneath the bridge on the left hand side of the road next to
Barnes and Nobles, was a huge painted sign
saying " Ban Gay
Marriage". Now, I know that Maine has it's
polls coming up in just a few weeks, however, wasn't
Massachusetts the first state in the entire country to legalize gay
marriage?
My other questions are, how come no one has bothered to do
something about this? It's on the Middlesex Turnpike in broad
daylight. Someone had to have taken quite a bit of time to do it
because first it was painted white underneath it as a base coat and
then it was painted in thick black layers smeared across that old,
worn out car dealership.
I know it's a vacant lot, but still, we aren't in Florida
(where there are thousands of congregated Republicans) and I was
pretty sure massachusetts was all about equality.
Shouldn't this sign be painted over or at least covered?
I'm just confused why no one has stood up to say something or
do something yet besides me and my girlfriend.
I'm outraged and disappointed that no one has bothered to do
anything besides us.
Honestly, I wish I could just paint over the "BAN" part
so it just said "Gay Marriage".
I'd be happier....
Here's a horrible picture of it....
