width="304" align="right">This has been one of the most
productive hours I have ever spent getting lost on the web. Even
when I was in college doing research for a paper I would spend a
lot more time getting lost in the cross referenced material than on
the actual research. I need organize and package my fabric
embellishments. This is a d.i.y. project because as a
small businessperson, I simply do not
have the funds to hire someone. I have a history of
getting lost in anything but the task at hand, which I did.
<p></p> <p>The task is how to make the thousands
of yards and bits and pieces of trim I have leftover from look
cute! The theory I am operating on is "if they look cute,
they will sell". I don't actually believe this. I
really don't look forward to spending hours prepping cards
with "cuteness" for hours on end for a return of
less than my original investment. But, I must. No wonder
I wandered off and found the most amazing sites for
vintage clothing.</p> <p>While looking for adorable
examples of trim packaging on <a rel="nofollow"
href="http://www.etsy.com">etsy</a>, I remembered
I purchased a 1950s <a rel="nofollow"
href="http://linensandlaurel.typepad.com">Koret alligator
purse</a> at a church sale in Stowe over the
weekend. So, now I had to know the value of that! I did
find a pretty good answer to my question, although I will say
people appear to be giving them away on <a rel="nofollow"
href="http://clothing.shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_dmptZUSQ5fWomenQ5fsQ5fShoes?_nkw=women%27s+alligator+purse&_sacat=11450&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=women%27s+alligator+purse&_osacat=63889">eBay</a>.
If you want one, check there. Some of the eBay descriptions are a
bit lacking in detail so I'm not saying you will get one as
good as mine. :-)</p> <p>What do you think I found
while looking for vintage alligator purses? Of course, the most
amazing sites for vintage clothing. Want to know where? Go
here: <a rel="nofollow"
href="http://www.vintagebaubles.com/">Vintage
Baubles</a> and the one that feeds my creative soul:
<a rel="nofollow"
href="http://www.geminola.com/">Geminola</a>. I did find
alligator purses, check out <a rel="nofollow"
href="http://www.vintageskins.com/">Vintage Skins</a>.
<br><br>Now I have to go finish that packaging project.
My first attempt to be cute is shown above. For my general sanity,
and to refresh and organize my business for the new year,
I need a solution. Any suggestions or ideas welcomed! </p>

Nancy: I agree. The web is sooooo distracting. I always intend to research for a sec and one link leads to another and another - resulting in that sec costing me so much more time than I allotted. Sometimes, like you, I happen upon happy surprises that make it worthwhile.
If this is an example of your packaging, it's very appealing. To receive a fistful of wonderful, co-ordinated notions packaged like this instead of ziplocked loose in a bag would make it seem like a gift. Who would want to "undo" it to use it? Lovely!
I can't imagine the time involved. You sure wouldn't find it packaged so beautifully retail.

Thanks, Devonia. Of course, I visit your site daily for inspiration.
My plan for the new year is to make the world a more beautiful place. Possibly taking care to offer a gorgeous package of what might otherwise be ordinary, repurposed, or found objects, will extend a Christmas spirit year round. Sharing this beauty with my customers is a good thing.
Many thanks for your posts to keep me inspired.

Every package will be a gift... ahem, Nancy, you already make the world a more beautiful place - by just being in it.

I would have to agree with Devonia. We are blessed to have you and you do make the world a happier place. The packaging is beautiful.
