This lone Pallic symbol guards the entrance to the Virgin Valley. Now if this doesn't prove that God has a sense of homor, I can't think of anything that shows a better example.
Exploring remote area's has become a passion of ours, we like to go out into the wilderness and explore ghost towns, old mine area's, we seek out interesting clues to our past. The Virgin Valley is outside of Winnemucca Nevada, and is rich in Opal deposits, black and fire opal are their biggest draws, but the area is also covered with Apache tears, Obsidian and petrified wood or opalized wood. The area was also home to over 30 American Indian Tribes so a dilligent eye can pick up chippings from the area indicating that arrow heads and spear head were made extensively by the indians in their hay day.
Most of the Virgin Valley is now a National Refuge, and is covered with massive marsh area's that support the wild life. Lots of birds, wild burro's, wild mustangs, mule deer, Golden Eagles, hawks, chuckers, sage grouse and goats.
We were rained out for two days while we were there, but still managed to get out into the back country and find some ourselves surrounded by some really amazing sights.
