Time Weathered Life Markers.

I love to take pictures of anything.  I don't have a high dollar camera.  I just have a Kodak C643 that I picked up at a pawn shop for about $100.  Since this is the month of October .  I walked down to the small cemetary from where I live.  I live in a rural town.  I love old things.  So I decided to take pics of some old headstones and this is what I came up with.  Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Those are really interesting. It's amazing how the styles of gravestones have changed over the years. You can pretty much tell the difference between the really old stones and the new. I've always liked seeing those and looking at the dates on them. They're really interesting!!!! By the way, welcome!!! Mama Kaye told me you were on!! I'm TasselLady, it's nice to meet you!!!!!! I hope you come back to visit us when you can!!! ((((hugs)))!!!

This is great Tam! You are going to have to come over and show this old dog a few new tricks so I can do this too! :0)

    Hello Tam,

Great pictures! I enjoy walking in the cemetary. We will often stop when we are driving somewhere if we see one that looks interesting. We did a letterbox hunt one summer and most of the letterboxes were hidden in cemetaries. Some of the inscriptions can be funny. Wish I could remember some I've read to share but alas this old memory fails me at the moment. LOL Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Morning TamTam, it is great to meet you and see youre an artist too. I know you are a fabulous cook. I was told by a very reliable source that you have the all time best recipe for lemon cookies.........

Actually I have heard quite a few things about you, all of them that lead me to the conclusion that you are a remarkable young lady with a huge heart but not a push over. And in case you are wondering, I admire everything about you.

    Hugs to you and yours

    Good afternoon Tam,

Hope you are having a great start to the new week. I love how God has provided us with "new starts"; a new year, new month, new week, new day, new hour.............. We have so many chances to start over. I've heard said that if you do something for 30 days it becomes habit and that goes for positive changes too. Can you imagine if we all changed one bad habit every 30 days.......I wonder how long it would take us all to become perfect. Don't think any of us ever could and that's why there is forgiveness. Hope you stop by to read my daily entry in Carmichael Chronicles. Had some revelations myself at work last night..........Blessings to you.

    Hi Tam,

Nice of you to come by. This picture doesn't do the door justice; it is so beautiful in person. I wish you could see it. Would love to see yours when you are ready. Hope your week is going well, dear.

Hi Tam Tam.....Thank you for explaining how you photographed those wonderful pics of the pond....I love looking at lilly pads floating on a pond....

Your photography is awesome!...Believe me...it doesn't happen just by flicking the button on a camera. It is an innate creative talent, of which you obviously possess.

The pictures of the grave stones made me think of the time when I saw The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, in Arlington, Virginia, just after we arrived (my husband & children) from Germany, to be back home in the U.S.. My boys who were 11 and 12 at the time...asked so many questions about all the unmarked graves and why they all had the American Flag staked at each gravestone....It brought tears to my eyes to have to tell them why their stones were unmarked.

So, I truly believe that people share compassion for others....Even if just at their grave! Wonderful reminder of how precious life really is....

Stop by anytime to chat....Hope your evening is grand!! Janet
