Intuition comes to us in pictures, words, feelings or an inner sense of knowing. Sometimes the pictures are powerful, clear and even in color, like a movie running in your head. Perhaps the intuitive picture is like a single snapshot that you suddenly 'see' in your mind. These images can be very elusive, fleeting and fuzzy too.
How can I explain exactly the depth of information one can perceive from such symbols? These pictures are like dream visions. Sure, people can write a dream symbol book and some of the meanings will resonate with some people sometimes. But each person's dream is individual and personal and perhaps multi-layered too. Only you can ultimately know what your images mean to you. Perhaps I can't explain every possible interpretation of fleeting symbols, but I can encourage you to value these images.
It is so easy for the mind to have an expectation about how an intuitive vision will look or feel, and to dismiss a great deal of relevant material. Trust begins with simple acceptance and openness to the process of learning and practicing, saying "yes" to each vision in the beginning until the lens is more finely focused.
Of course, you may not be easily visual. For you it might be the hearing of words or sentences in your mind. Listen especially to the thoughts that come in uninvited. Those moments when you aren't especially thinking about anything and suddenly you hear a calm inner voice often contain powerful messages. Anxiety and fear are not associated with intuition. The feeling is usually peaceful. A good validation that helps us trust intuition is when we hear something we don't know anything about, wouldn't have thought of, or perhaps don't even agree with for sure (especially when the guidance is more spiritual, loving or clear than our personality might have chosen).
The more we trust each little morsel of intuition we receive, the more often we will receive information. Many people will ask "How do I know I'm not making it up?' It is normal to have this concern. Simply allow yourself to trust as much as you can, and hold the intention to trust so that you receive enough validation over time that your trust becomes deeper.
Keep a journal of intuitive thoughts or visions you've received so that you can check back later to find out what was relevant and what was not. This will help you in your learning process. Sometimes our intuitions are so fleeting we don't even notice them until the event occurs and then we instantly remember we had that thought or feeling and had ignored it. Instead of being hard on yourself for ignoring it, congratulate yourself and validate yourself.
