User post: Ever wish you could take back an email??

Ugh! Accidentally just replied to an email when I meant to forward it on to someone else! I then had to send and apologetic and explanatory email to the first person. Thankfully I didn't say anything harmful or uncomplimentary in the first email, but still I was really embarrassed.

Have you ever done this? How did you smooth it over afterward?

Yes I do. I have my contacts all together, work and home and I shouldn't. I should have them separate. I am a writer and had Jennifer Chaney of the Washington Post as my contact for work. My good friend is Jennifer Davis. So after Christmas I write my good buddy Jenny a long and detailed note talking about the pain of losing our foreclosed home, personal health problems, plans for the new year, how my kids are, how my husband is, throw is some humor you name it and off it goes to Jennifer, but wait, Jennifer Chaney. I could of died. Jen Davis got a huge laugh out of that happening at least.

I just finally got to read your comment about National Novel Writing Month in November. It sounds very intriguing! Do tell more :)

On the topic of accidental e-mails, I did something like that once. I don't know what I was thinking, but I had formulated a response in my head to someone. I clicked on their message, hit "reply," typed it out, and sent it. Only then, did I notice that I had clicked the message above theirs. So, instead of replying to a friend, I sent a somewhat strange message to my boss. I apologized for it, but I think she thought I was a little weird after that.

Thanks for giving me the details, Jett. I think I will sign up for that. I really love to write and I'm not sure I can reach such a lofty goal, but it will be fun to try! It might just be the motivation that I need. I hope you make the 50,000 this year :)
