User post: What are your fall traditions?

It's that time of year again, the leaves are starting to change color, the days are getting shorter, and there is a briskness in the air.

Today, I started to look for some tea bags, because I realized that soon I would be wanting that hot cuppa.  I checked and we still have some logs from last year and I can't wait to start a fire in the fireplace.

When I was a teacher, I always felt like this was the learning time of the year.  The time when it felt right to cozy up in the library and turn the pages of a book worn from generations of reading.

What are your fall traditions?  What activities do you consider unique to the season?

SarahY, I agree with you. There is nothing as good as a cup of hot tea on a cold evening. (Okay maybe a cup of Baileys', but I would choose Earl Grey with Bergamot over Bailey's any day.)

There is something about curling up and reading a book with a hot cup of tea that just can't be equalled.

    Hugs to you and yours,

    Emma Mae

PS If you are looking for a literary experiance with a Master, Dan Brown might not be the author I would recommend. I enjoy fast page turning action and implausible plot twists and turns. I am off to read your reviews. Thanks for stopping by.

I am not sure that I have any Fall traditions.

In Texas the seasons all seem the same.....at times.

    Good Morning ☼

    *Happy Thursday*

    Much love to you!

Totally! I love the fall. It's my favorite time of year. Some of my favorite things to do are start wearing sweaters and fleece and sweatshirts again, walking through the fallen leaves and breathing in that musky aroma of dead leaves, looking for colored acorns, drinking apple cider, going apple picking or pumpkin picking, making pumpkin bread and Harvest Pie (with pears, apples, dried cherries, and almonds), making apple pie, going to craft fairs or harvest festivals and buying apple butter, going to the Maryland Renaissance Faire and buying cinnamon roasted almonds, baking butternut squash, and watching for that first sign of winter approaching — flurries!

its my favorite season! i usually start out by scoping cute turtlenecks and sweaters, boots and cords. doing fall related stuff is a tradition, whether it be apple picking, haunted tours, or Halloween craziness. its the most wonderful time of the year :-)

Some of my favorite things to do are to go and buy some fall scents to put in my house. I love keeping the candles in my house in tune with the seasons. I just bought one called cinnamon vanilla and it's amazing! I too love the taste of hot tea on a chilly day.

A couple friends and I go to haunted houses and out to dinner. We have done if for years and with life getting busier and busier each year with kids and families, it is nice to know I will see them all once a year for our haunted house night out.

Oh, as soon as fall is here, ( or even when it is getting close) i start getting apples, and tea, and pumpkin recipes, puffy jacket vests, football - I always go hiking, or walk around in the crisp air with a thermos of hot cider. :-)

I stock up on over-the-counter relaxation meds, planners and nerves. Fall is very stressful for me.
