A Nation is celebrating the election of its First ever really popular country-wide President. Lines have been re-drawn. We are no longer red and blue states, we are the United States of America, as he always said. Suddenly, we are holding our heads a little bit higher. Mothers are holding their children closer - we hope, we are safer. Fathers are smiling , holding the morning paper higher, scanning the financial indices...we hope, we will be the world leader again...Children are talking about the new Puppy to be in the White house, can we get one too, they ask....Yes, there is optimism all around, everyone (or the majority) have a skip in their step...Its Spring in Fall this year!

Its not about Democrats or Republicans anymore...Its about us, as inhabitants of this great country - whether we are Americans or immigrants, this is your land, our land...

But, very quickly the jubilation will give way to the realization that its now time for real work...For sacrifices, for earnestness and for hardships that lie ahead..One party might have elected a President, it may even have a almost fillibuster proof majority in the senate/house...maybe it will get to appoint some justices to the Supreme court even...maybe it will get to remove the ban on stem cell research, maybe we can really start talking about gun-control, about basic right of choice for all...and universal healthcare??

But this comes with responsibility and should be sobered by humility-for as hard as this battle was, the war has just begun...Here is to a brand new future of hope, of belief in ourselves and ourpower, to make this nation to do the right things, for itself and theworld...

Congratulations to all of you, We have elected an Awesome new President!

Yes, we can.
