No matter what your money situation, it’s easy to spend like your money will never run out, especially when the company you keep tends to spend like mad.
One of the perks I had during my recent college experience was living within walking distance of all my friends, which meant rarely needing to spend a lot of money to have a good time. But things are different now and draining my wallet seems to be a consequence of hanging out with friends. Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (1) | Blog

GUEST POST by Lisa Chenofsky Singer
Dear Career Coach Lisa,

There’s so much not to like about Sarah Palin … why do I find myself admiring her?
- April Daniels Hussar, BettyConfidential.com
Like many people outside of Alaska, the first I heard of Sarah Palin was back in August 2008, when John McCain announced her as his running mate. My first reaction: Smooth move, John. We wanted a woman in the Oval Office, now you might be giving us one. My second reaction: How sexist and condescending can you get. We can’t have Hillary, so any old female will do? And my third: Dear Lord, please don’t let this woman end up in the White House. So here’s my confession: I was – and still am – an ardent Obama supporter. Is that rain, or the tears of thousands of publishers, TV executives, and celebrities plotting their public rehabilitation pouring down?
AP: Oprah Winfrey at the start of her extraordinary career
It's official: Oprah Winfrey will pull the plug on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2011 after 25 seasons on the air. Rumored for what seems like forever, likely feared for longer by CBS Television Distribution, which distributes the show to more than 200 U.S. TV markets, the shuttering of the heart of Oprah's media empire is nigh.
