THE MOTHER LODE

Well, we were finally able to find a place where we could order everything we needed under one roof and at a terrific price!  I found a web site for LaRock's Fun House out of NC and from the minute I hit "send" on my shopping cart payment, they were attentive and kept me informed of our orders progress.  They have so many different twisting balloons available and others too.  They had the super dual action pumps we were needing.  There's also all kinds of stuff for clown entertainers, gag gifts, etc., oh, I love the rubber chicken!  Not sure what the huge over-sized tooth brush is for!  Kind of scary.

I waited on our order with the anticipation of an expectant mother!  A midnight worker, I was fearful of going to sleep the morning the order was supposed to be here, afraid I'd miss the UPS Ground guy knocking and it would go to the apartment complex office.

True to the LaRock's Fun House tracking, the parcel arrived on the morning delivery was promised.  The knock, I ran to the door, whipped it open, saw the box, smiled at the UPS guy, grabbed the box out of his hands and yelled, "Yes!", slammed the door and did the Snoopy happy dance!  I told my sister the only thing that would have shocked the UPS guy more would have been if I was in my underwear and ripped open the door!

The order was complete, everything there, exactly as ordered.  Ahhhh!  The smell of latex in the morning!  My daughter said she knew the parcel had come as she could hear twisting and my happy sounds.  (She was also annoyed as I'd woken her up!) Who knew, balloon crack!  I was so pleased with the quality of the Qualatex balloons, the colors, how pliable they were.  After using the cheap litle kits sold at Walgreens, this was terrific!  I knew from watching the twisting videos that we must be using cheap or old balloons as ours did not react and cooperate like the ones I saw being twisted on the videos.

When I say I was delighted with LaRock's Fun House inventory and the quality of their merchandise is an understatement.  I had ordered some smaller 160 balloons for the heck of it so of course, they became my immediate favorite as they make the cutest miniature sculptures and are easy to work with when you have small "woman hands".  Immediate note to self:  should have ordered more of these.  But who knew?

I called my partner and was raving about how great these balloons are, "You're going to love working with these!", how beautiful the color choices were, "Wait 'till you use this power pump!".  She quietly said, "I'm in class today."   Now she wanted to leave class and get her stuff!  I realized that it was kind of like us both purchasing a Corvette, but now I'm the one with the keys and test driving it, tearing it up, and she's stuck in some boring place!  I chilled out on the accolades and tried to tone myself down.  After all, this is just an order of balloons, right?

NOT!  Within an hour my daughter and I had opened each bag and experimented with some kind of creation and the table was filled with little monkeys, dogs, parrots, you name it, they were there.  A plethora of latex creatures strewn about the kitchen like some wild frat party had just taken place!

Thank you LaRock!  You Rock!  Now, to get down to the business of practicing our skills to meet our first function deadline, August 3rd, a baby shower.  We'll let you know how it goes!

"I hear my bosses talking about what people are doing wrong but it seems to me it's more gossip than conversation. They praise people and when they leave talk bad about them. I overheard them talking about me today. I'm not sure how to handle it."
