The top ten things a broke person is afraid of

  1. The telephone. Thank goodness for caller ID.
  2. The mail. You’d rather open the Valpak envelope than the envelope from the gas company.
  3. The colored slip from the post office. You’ve got (a registered) mail!
  4. The long, long pause after the cashier swipes that piece of plastic. It’s like credit card roulette.
  5. The knock on the door. Beware, they also peek through windows.
  6. The piece of paper stuck to the front door. If colorful, it is probably just a flyer.
  7. The hissing sound from the faucet. Don’t flush the toilet. Yet.
  8. The utility company’s van. Right in front of the house.
  9. The tow truck. Near the car.
  10. The following day. It’s just the same thing all over again.

Have you seen the commercial of the guy at the ATM, trying to give a high 5 to the lady behind him, as the ATM machine approves his withdrawl...LOL

Back when I was in school and working, I had lunch with my sister, her ATM did not work at the restaurant,I was also broke, she had to leave me there!!! with my little nephew and my baby daughter... Until she went to get money. We laughed...AFTER.

All of those a true. You get to the point you don't want to answer the phone or door. All you want to do is hide. With a good movie or book and pray for the best.

You forgot when you go to the store, and you hope and pray you have enough money. Or else you have to put items back while in line. :(

My favorite is #4. Even when I HAVE money I cringe. And what do I care what the cashier @ Wal*Mart thinks of me??

I dont see how any woman can be broke in this country...honestly why do u pick broke boyfriends and husbands? Thousands of laws written in the past 40 years to insure you all turn out to be Hillary Clinton...and If that doesnt work why dont you try using what the Good Lord gave you.

my mother had four girls,(now adults) she has asked the question more than once, why do you four keep getting with broke men?, our answers were always the same, the broke men spend more time with you and less time working so you have more fun, and remember, you cant take it with you when you go. as long as we have the necesseties in life and a nice home, were alright, god will take care of the rest.
