Happy Monday!
I had a semi-productive weekend. I had a great workout on
Friday after work. The rest of the weekend I did a lot of
walking around, but no official heart-pumping
"exercise". Sunday consisted of a lot of yard work
and I even broke a sweat, despite the weather being chilly.
My plan was to hit the gym on Sunday, but alas...I forgot that said
gym is no longer open on Sundays during summer. Sorta nixed
my plan, there! I thought about going for a walk, but I ended
up doing a lot of yard work so I deemed it un-necessary.
I can't remember all the specific foods I ate over the weekend,
but with Monday weigh-day looming over my head, I did try to eat as
healthy as possible. I've found that some citrus juice
immulsified with olive oil and garlic and/or shallots makes an
amazing dressing that can be used on salads, seafood, chicken or
pasta. I've also found that it's not easy to eat
local produce. I looked online to see what is in season at
the moment and hit the grocery store hoping to find said produce -
for less money, as it's in-season and local. Not the
case. My local mega-grocery store dispensed snap peas from
Guatemala!! Beans from some other country...etc, etc. I
was disheartened, to say the least. Soon, our local
farmer's markets will open up (we have none yet) and hopefully
then I can get fresh local produce. It just seems weird to me
- having to get produce from Central America when it's
currently in-season locally!
So speaking of the dreaded weigh-day - this morning I tipped the
scales at 180. Again - I realize this is not considered
'light' by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm
happy to be down to a weight which I've not visited in
eons. I'm hoping to get into the 170's next week
(really, I'd even be happy with 179) because I'd be in a
weight range I can't remember the last time I've
seen. I've been in the 180's for a while now, but
something about being in the 170's just seems extremely
exciting, productive and celebratory to me.
Fingers crossed!!
