9-Year-Old Incest Victim Aborts Twins, Church Objects

A 9-year-old carrying twins allegedly fathered via rape by her stepfather underwent an abortion in Brazil Wednesday, despite the objections of Brazil’s Roman Catholic Church. Abortion is illegal in Brazil, a country that holds the highest concentration of Catholics in the world.

The stepfather has been in jail since last week.

A lawyer for the archdiocese of northeastern Brazil said the girl should have carried the twins to term.

"It's the law of God: Do not kill. We consider this murder," the lawyer said.

All I have to say is anyone in there right mind would not object to the CHILDS decision. To all the people that objected because it is the law of GOD. Since when was it legal in your mind that a father or step father could RAPE his child.I know that child did not want to have sex let alone become a mother at the age of 9.I am absolutly digusted with the thought of what this innocent child under went. She will be emotionally scared for LIFE.

From what I understand, this abortion occurred because doctors feared for the life of this child if she tried to carry twins and deliver. Since when does the Catholic Church disregard the expertise of doctors and start to play God with people's lives? Oh, now I remember.... all the frigging time unless the molestation of young boys by certain priests is involved. Very silent then is the Church.

She's just a baby herself. Shame on those who forget that a mere child was raped... and who knows how many times by this piece of crap called a stepfather. It's doubtful it was just once. I hope he gets the very same treatment in jail.

exactly a CHILD's decision. you cant let a child make a decision like this. she will also be scarred knowing she killed two lives. when pregnancy is threatening the health of the mother, anything can and should be done to save her and if this is the case it is no longer considered abortion.

I feel so sorry for the victim's in the this case their is now right or wrong everyone is a victim expect the step-father if he didn't rape his step-daught she would've never gotten pregnant and needed an abortion and what right did the chruch have getting involed in a criminal matter, and carry the babies to term it would have killed her and them.
