A Perspective Change

user

I've been super into European culture for as long as I can remember, but today I read this section on medieval Europe in my AP World class and I was shocked. For the first time I'm being exposed to history in a non-euro-centric light and after spending 2 and 1/2 months as such, looking at the same materiel I've seen since sixth grade, just doesn't seem the same. I'm amazed at how self-righteous they all were (especially about religion!) and even more how often they thought they were the first to come up with an idea, when they weren't. I'm not saying Europeans suck, or that our views as Americans in teaching "World" history are off, it's just for me personally, this was an eye-opener!
