Advertising Out-Of-Control

user

Certainly not news, ads are so invasive, but as each generation springs forward each seems they to become less and less aware of this and succomb to the onslaught. It is totally by design, and I charge ad agencies with mental health of not only this country but the world. Foremost America sets the standard for all tv and radio shows everywhere, and we have made broadcasting a pervervial wreck of BS. The content of programs has taken a backseat to ads and process of wrenching another dollar out of the pockets of the public at large. I liken ads to the carney barker that baits and calls you into something, that once completed, you wonder why the hell did I sit through that. I still search and choose a channel for the PROGAM and race to find the friggin' mute button at every break. It really becomes contrastingly apparent in older shows, todays ads are on a whole an insult to our intelligence. I propose that rather than limit ads we make Advertising Breaks something that is optional to view, that is a break in the program will timed with a pre-break warning the viewer that it's approching and the screen will go to black is so desired and time out visually so the viewer may return to program witout missing any of it. In other words, whether I want to see an ad should be totally up to me. What an concept, give people more control over their lives and what is introduced into it. I vote for controlling my life and quit stting and letting strangers hurl garbage my way. Put that in your gluttenish media pipe and take a puff...........and provide the public with FRESH AIR!!!!!!
