Ancient Ginko fossils indicator of CO2 content of ancient atmosphere.

JURASSIC ERA GINKO PLANTS INDICATE MORE CO2 IN PAST.

GW/GC wackos either don’t get it or just plain refuse to look up the facts.

In past geologic ages carbon dioxide levels were four to five times higher than they are today. All the nice carbon products that heat our homes and make our cars go down the road were made from CO2 by plants using an in put of UV light. Most of the incoming light obviously didn’t come from our sun because it doesn’t have enough power to keep us out of Ice Ages.

A recent TV documentary alluds to how much CO2 was in our atmosphere during the Jurassic era. The flow of CO2 into ancient oceans (probably belched up from undersea volcanoes) created much of the oil bearing shale’s that we are taping today with horizontal drilling.

Today’s ginko plants are almost identical to those growing 65 to 100-million years ago except for one thing. All plants need carbon dioxide to grow because that is where the carbon comes from for carbon based life forms. By counting the number of stomata on fossilized ginko leaves and comparing them with ginko plants growing today scientists estimate that during the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods Co2 levels were 4 to 5 times higher than they are today.

With an atmosphere of 2 to 4-hundred pounds per square inch and CO2 levels 5-times more than they are today it becomes more understandable how limestone layers up to 12,500 feet thick were laid down during the Carboniferous Era and (carbon) coal layers up to 100-feet thick were deposited in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado and Utah.

Five years ago scientists were took plaster casts of dinosaur lung cavities and discovered that they couldn’t possibly live in today’s atmosphere of 14.5 pounds per square inch. Their lungs were only half as large as they needed to be to survive in today’s atmosphere. Cloning dinosaurs wouldn’t be feasible unless you could increase their lung capacity.  Only 65-million years ago Earth’s atmosphere was over 30 pounds per square inch.

It should be obvious to all that Earth is loosing is atmosphere. Due to the fact that half the rainforests have been burned and half the plankton is gone it becomes obvious that Earth has lost it major suppliers of free oxygen. The question is: Are humans so stupid that they will burn up all the oxygen when there are so many other abundant sources of energy available that don’t consume oxygen?

I'm sorry, but the majority of light Earth receives comes from our sun, because it is the only star in our solar system. While I agree that plants need Carbon Dioxide to grow, that is not where Carbon comes from. Plants grow using photosynthesis. That means they use Carbon Dioxide and light to produce Oxygen, not Carbon.

Also, a better use of punctuation probably couldn't hurt.
