Anderson Cooper: Professional hater
editor
You may recall the time CNN anchor Anderson Cooper took over “Live with Regis & Kelly” and trashed reality TV. His
diatribe about “Living Lohan” actually elicited a public response from Lindsay’s mom, Dina!
This week Cooper made a target of
magician David Blaine, saying he doesn’t like him, he’s “sick of him,” and that he doesn’t want to see his magic tricks, which aren’t even tricks. Ouch! What’s the matter, Anderson? Did you have a bad experience at a childhood birthday party?
Here’s the clip. Do you think Anderson Cooper is too opinionated on TV or do you think he’s just saying what everyone else wants to say? [

This may be the most inherently ignorant article I have ever read on Yahoo. Calling Anderson Cooper a "professional hater" for commenting that he is tired of hearing about the Lohans, David Blane, and Reality TV is laughable to say the least. This is a who's who list of pointless garbage in the media. I would suggest watching a little more CNN and a little less of The Soup. Are they giving blogs away to anyone these days?

I like Anderson Cooper. I completely agree with his comments pertaining to David Blaine and Living Lohan.

I can't stop laughing about what Anderson said about the Lohan's. Thank god I never wasted one minute of my life watching those hellacious people. No one could've said it better, thanks Anderson (if you're reading this).

I think that being in the same age range as Anderson, and witnessing how reality tv and the overwhelming cult of celebrity has been ushered into American consciousness (to the point of us being concerned with nothing else), it simply reflects the generational gap that we in Generation "X" are now entering. We grew up in a time when schools were better equipped, education curriculums were challenging and actually encouraged thought process and competency. I too, at 37, am growing fatigued of every aspect of our culture (pop culture and otherwise) resembling some version of a popularity contest a la American Idol. There doesn't seem to be a lot out there in the mass media that's substantive these days.
Additionally, considering Cooper has a strong academic backround, coupled with the fact that he's spent over half of his career as a journalist in international war zones under shelling, tripping over dead bodies, and mine fields...I don't find it particularly surprising that he would have very little patience for what he considers mundane in this Warholian era we currently live in: where EVERYBODY has 15 minutes of fame for doing nothing particularly extraordinary at all. It wasn't so long ago that we encouraged greatness. Now mediocrity is the ticket. It's all rather frustrating to witness actually.

Anderson's absolutely on target...these reality shows are not positive TV. Especially hate the Bachelor-style ones too.

They need more attention because their ratings are going down.
