I, for one, am extremely excited to see what Mr. Bateman will come up with. Anyone who's a fan of Arrested Development (which sorely was yanked off the tube in 2006) can understand and appreciate the talent of Jason Bateman. He's hilarious. His comic timing is impeccable. And who else could have made the good guy/honorable character of Michael Bluth actually edgy, besides him? NO ONE.
But, my crush--I mean intense respect for his talent--goes way back to his days as a child star. He played Derek, Ricky Schroeder's, wise cracking nemesis on Silver Spoons. While other girls were fawning over blond, blue-eyed Ricky, I was in love with Jason Bateman. This trend continued on to my teen years, when most of my girlfriends collaged their binders with magazine cutouts of Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains, I harbored an intense crush for Bateman, batting my eyelashes through episodes of The Hogan Family. I kept my crush a secret then, but no longer. I love you, Jason Bateman.
