Lately it seems like when any young couple announces they’re getting married rumors start swirling about if they’re expecting. But when it comes to newly engaged Ashlee Simpson, 23, and Pete Wentz, 27, the gossip is true! "We are thrilled to confirm their engagement and congratulate this happy couple," a source confirmed to US Weekly. Papa Joe, a former minister, must want these two rushed down the alter quick! Ashlee’s new album is due out this month and we’re guessing promotions and touring will probably be out of the question. But after all, that’s unimportant when there’s a baby on the way, right?

With Jamie Lynn Spears (17), Jessica Alba (26) and many more young famous females getting knocked up, you’d think there was a lack of birth control in Hollywood. While the pregnancies may be planned, what type of example do you think this sets for the youth of America? [Us]

I believe that everyone should stop looking to celebrities as role models, as it’s very clear that these pretentious people are not and will never be role models.

Celebrities serve one purpose only and that is to entertain us that’s it, whether it’s at the movies, on television, concerts, play or just listening to a CD… most of us will never have the life these celebs have and would you want a life where you’re consistently under a microscope, where nothing is private, I know I don’t.

As parents our job is to be the role models for our kids, protect them, teach them and most of all let them see that it’s not about how much money or fame you have but how you deal with living in the real world. Let them know the important of a good education.

Jamie Lynn Spears and the rest of these young lady’s out there getting pregnant all have the finances to take care of these babies, the average 17, 18 year old girl will not have the luxuries they have and would probably have to drop out of school in order to support their babies thereby, continue the circle of poverty and uneducated mother struggling to support her kids on minimum wages, and kids deprive of the basics…. I think that’s what we tell the average girl… ok getting off my “soap box” now… Cheers
