We celebrated Christmas and New Year in Thailand, just a few days after the Bangkok international airport was occupied by protesters. My in-laws joined us and we had a terrific time in Bangkok, Koh Samed, and Krabi. It was our son's first time on the beach, and he loved every being in the water and playing with the sand.
We also attended a recruitment fair for international schools in Bangkok, but didn't get lucky. I was disappointed, we really wanted to get jobs in China and Thailand, where we previously lived for four years. This forced us to sign up for the job fair in San Francisco in February. Fortunately my in-laws agreed again to fly from Seattle and babysit our son. This time we finally signed a contract with an international school in Lagos, Nigeria. My husband will be teaching middle school band, and I will be teaching computer and yearbook classes again. Such is our life as overseas educators, and I love it.
So since our days in Pakistan are numbered I am trying to do a lot of things before we pack up and leave. One is the long overdue yearbook for our baby. This is what's keeping me busy these days, on top of the vaccinations, medical exam, visa application, and shipping stuff. I use the Scrapbook Factory Deluxe software. The templates really make my job easier, but I also tend to redo everything because I use more photos than the templates allow.
