Barack Obama rocks out to better music than you

When the Democratic presidential contender told Rolling Stone, "I have pretty eclectic tastes," what Barack Obama should have said was, “You wish you had my iPod.” The Illinois senator’s iTunes playlist is full of hits and very few misses. A few of Barack’s standbys:

1. The best music of his time: The 70s – Barack listens to the Rolling Stones (Gimme Shelter is his favorite of their repertoire), Elton John and Earth, Wind & Fire. Stevie Wonder is his musical hero from the era.

2. Bob Dylan – “Blood on the Tracks” has a special place in his heart. "Actually, one of my favorites during the political season is 'Maggie's Farm,' " says Obama. "It speaks to me as I listen to some of the political rhetoric."

3. Jazz – Barack hearts legends Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker.

4. The Boss - "Not only do I love Bruce's music, but I just love him as a person," Obama said. "He is a guy who has never lost track of his roots, who knows who he is, who has never put on a front."

5. Hip-hop - "I am troubled sometimes by the misogyny and materialism of a lot of rap lyrics," he said, "but I think the genius of the art form has shifted the culture and helped to desegregate music." He refers to rappers Jay-Z and Ludacris as "great talents and great businessmen.”

As if his unrelenting playlist wasn’t enough, some of his favorite musicians publicly have the dude’s back in the election race. "I've got to say, having both Dylan and Bruce Springsteen say kind words about you is pretty remarkable," Obama said. "Those guys are icons." [CNN]

I'm a former Hillary Clinton supporter now supporting Barack Obama. This country needs change, and I believe that Barack Obama is the President to do it.

Any muslim that won`t swear on the Bible or say the Pledge of Allegiance, does NOT belong running this country! This is just more propaganda to try and sway uninformed voters!

I happen to think this is a GREAT country and does not need to change.

    Only the Democrats do!!!

1)You assume it is a white person writing racist stuff which right THERE MAKES YOU YES YOU, THE RACIST.

2)The only KNOWN RACISTS in this whole race has been those in the LIBERAL DEMOCRAT party.

    3) Why do you thik Obama goes after the young, NAIVE, NON WORKING, NOT UNDERSTANDING LIFE, TAXES ETC!!?

    4) For the 3rd time, THATS THE 3RD TIME THE LIBERALS HAVE FUNDED THE WAR.

THATS RIGHT BUSH JUST SIGNED ANOTHER BILL PASSED BY THE LIBERALS FOR THE IRAQI WAR. HOW ABOUT THAT !!

    4) Evertime Obama mentions change, THAT IS RACIST.

THE ONLY CHANGE HE IS TALKING ABOUT IS THE FACT THAT HE IS BLACK.

HE ISNT GOING TO DO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN JIMMY CARTER.

5)TYPICAL WHITES TRYING TO MAKE UP FOR THEIR SLAVE GUILT SO THEY WANT TO SHOW HOW UN RACIST THEY ARE BY VOTING FOR OBAMA.

    6) BLACKS WERE THE ONE'S WHO SAID OBAMA WASNT BLACK ENOUGH FOR THEM BUT THEN THEY SAW WHITES VOTING FOR HIM AND REALIZED THAT THEY COULDNT LET WHITES SHOW THEM HOW TO DO IT SO THEY HAVE GONE FOR OBAMA 90%.

    RACIST OF THEM?? HMMMMMMMMMM

Oh dear, reactionary bush lovers. The article is about his music tastes, so why are you bringing politics and religion into it? Ignorance is a scary thing...

I have always taken pride in my taste and knowledge of music and have always described my tastes as eclectic as well. All I can say is, Right On Barack! His playlist reads like mine, though mine is a little more extensive...
