Big bucks for the Jolie-Pitt baby photos going to charity: Why aren't all celebs this awesome?

If you haven't already heard (aka been living under a rock), Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie welcomed the latest addition to their massively-growing brood over the weekend -- this time twins Knox Leon & Vivienne Marcheline. And honestly, I really love the unusual yet kind gorgeous names, which are said to mostly come from various family names (Marcheline is Angelina's late mother's name, for one).

But as soon as these two little bundles of joy came into the world, the newest media scramble became: How much will someone pay for the first photos of the Jolie-Pitt babes? Celebrity baby photos are BIG business these days. Jennifer Lopez gave hers up for $6 million, and even little Jamie-Lynn Spears parted with exclusive shots for no less than a cool million. The new Jolie-Pitt pics are said to go for no less than $11 million with a likely price tag of close to $20 million. Nuts!

The amazing thing about these two is that, the last time they sold off baby snaps after the birth of daughter Shiloh, they took that insane paycheck of $4.1 million and gave it to African children's charities. So basically they translated that fool's money that People and others were willing to pay out, and gave it to people who really needed it. How novel!

Now, taking a look over this list of the top 10 most expensive celebrity baby photos, I'm adding up roughly 25.6 million bucks (Shiloh included) that could go toward some very worthy causes instead of toward another pair of Laboutins or yacht vacation. Allow me to get on my soapbox a second. Think how much that much money could do to help the problem of world poverty or the pain and suffering of victims of war. Think how many Darfurian refugees that could feed. Think how much healthcare it could provide for not just people abroad, but also people here in the US!

So, say what you will about Brad and Angelina's decision to sell of their little ones' pictures to the highest bidder, but at least that incredibly irrational amount of money that some moron is willing to pay will go to very good use.

Do you think that more celebs should follow their lead and give up some of those big baby bucks for good? And while you're commenting, tell us what you think of the twins' colorful names. You love them like I do, or not so much?

Congratulations to Brad and Angelina. They are a good model to everyone and specially to other celebrity couples. They are genuinely kind and good hearted people. They help the poor and under priveledged. Their selling their twins' pictures to give the money to charity is a very noble act. They are truly one of a kind. God bless them and their children.

As much as I tire of hearing about them, I applaud their choice to extort the gossip mags for charity money. Truthfully, I expected nothing less. It would be nice for them to give the money to help out the USA, but Ms. Jolie is entrenched in helping 3rd world countries. Her dough, her choice, people!

Blessings come to those who not only care but act on it. They love so much and they so willingly give it to those who can appraciate it. May they continue to be blessed, Angelina and Brad and their family

I have also thought those two are a smart couple and they are handling themselves well in the bright lights of stardom! I give them thumbs up and they must have grand hearts for all their children.

    RIGHT ON BRAD AND ANGELINA

    CONGRATULATIONS

this is the most overblown story ever...these two. You wanna cover something really good? Talk about how teachers aren't getting paid their worth.

    Good thought, CB. True that.

End Hunger Network says about 600,000 kids go to bed hungry every night in the USA. How about throwing some of that money to that cause?

glad babies are doing well, but for the mother and father, well try doing without the world knowing. there are many people who donate thousands of dollars and recieve no recognition, maybe they feel they are doing this for the benefit of others and don't need the praise. try keeping your money in the states there are just as many here that can benefit from the proceeds to help this country as well as anywhere in the world. as for the hurricane victims i guess they don't require any more help but continue to live in places that are not their home. what happened to that one brad? some still live in trailors that are full of formeldehyde and are making them sick, did we forget about that one? try being humble and live without all the hoopla. i for one am sick of hearing about the two of you being so wonderful, when there are others out there that are doing the same for our country U.S.A. that is the United Satates of America in case the two of you have forgotten. the nation that made you famous you seem to think we don't need anything back. but there are those who desperately need the help from this country

Congratulations to Brad and Angelina. On the subject of the pics I think it's terrible that they are selling their babies photos. Why not donate that money out of your own pocket instead of using the magazine company. Because no matter what we the people will be paying for that donation everytime one of us buys that magazine. As far as the names the boys name is weird and the girls name is cute!!!!!!!
