Charmers With Four Legs

This charming, little creature is a baby, but it already resembles the grown-ups very much. I don't know for how long a baby squirrel stays with his or her mother, but that can't be very long - maybe a month or so - and then off to live the life of an adult. It's perfect in stature and personality, but it never struck me as very bright. 
When I heard that an ongoing research program had revealed how they often forgot where they had put the food they had stowed away for the winter I can't say I was surprised. Their winter supplies are very important, but if they don't have the sense to keep track of them they jeopardize their life and their future.
Luckily enough they very often have good, human friends who bring them food (thus making them think that they don't have to do anything themselves, I suppose ...). Some of them are very little afraid of humans. They may even investigate them like another tree.
