So how would children react to elearning solutions? It all depends on the design of the module. It may turn into a very complicated issue. There are those who say that elearning should not be the mode of child education. These many detractors say that elearning solutions will be too much for the young mind to process. It will condition the child’s mind in such a way that may be detrimental for his or her learning. How so? Well, they say that the over stimulation (from the abounding sound and sight stimuli from elearning programs for kids nowadays) result in the shortened attention span of a child. They become a whole lot less attentive to other real world objects and events that do not have as much color or sound. Also, at that young age, it is dangerous because they might get molded to depend on the computer and to instantaneousness of computer technology. This means that they might get used to the automatic reciprocation or response of the computer. This is said to shorten a child’s patience and will deter him or her from the other tasks that require more steps to accomplish. In short, they will want to have everything accomplished with just a few clicks of a button. Another bad thing that elearning for kids is that it eliminates much of human interaction in the act of learning.

There are others who advocate elearning solutions for kids. They say that technology is so rich, why not take advantage of it? It just offers so many things for the children. First of all, elearning is just so economical. It is hard not to ignore this fact. It saves time. Hiring teachers is really expensive. Children also respond well to elearning tools because of the colorful and creative presentation of lessons.

Perhaps the key to this is whole thing is balance. Indeed elearning solutions should not be the only, primary source of a child’s education. What would be best is to use these technological tools as a mere supplement. Basically it is not the main course; it is just vitamins that would fill in the gaps in learning. It is a great prop because kids will always love and be infinitely interested in anything that has to do with fun computer software.

On the other hand elearning solutions for office training is a different matter. It will always be a great and unavoidable tool for companies who want to enrich their employees.
