Five things you didn’t know about Ashley Dupré and Elliott Spitzer

Ever since former New York governor Eliot Spitzer was forced to resign after a prostitution scandal, we've been curious about his call girl, Ashley Dupré. Finally, she spilled everything to Diane Sawyer on “20/20” and People magazine. "Everyone knows me as 'that girl,' but I'm not just 'that girl,'" says the 23-year-old. "I have a lot of depth, a lot of layers." Here are five fascinating things we learned about Dupré and Spitzer so far:

She didn't know who Spitzer was until she watched him announcing his resignation: She knew him as "Client No. 9" aka “George Fox.” "I mean, ask a lot of 22 year olds, I was wrapped up in my family, my music. I knew the name, but the face…I'm not really a TV person."

She doesn’t get why people are so freaked out by hookers: "This wasn't any different than going on a date with someone you barely knew and hooking up with them. I knew what my purpose was, they knew what their purpose was — there weren't any games."

Spitzer wasn’t trying to make a girlfriend out of Dupré: "Some guys, they want to have conversations and really get to know each other. With him, it clearly was not like that. It was more of a transaction. Strictly business."

Her parents are impressed by what she did: "My mother wasn't angry. She was supportive," she said. Her father, who took off when she was 3, called when the scandal broke to say, "Damn, girl. When you do it, you do it big!"

She doesn't feel guilty about Spitzer’s downfall, noting that if she hadn't been sent to the hotel that night, somebody else would have been.

You can tune in to “20/20” Friday night on ABC for more. Do you think what Dupré did was wrong or do you think Spitzer was worse for being a public official and seeking out a prostitute? All I can say is, she is doing the right thing capitalizing on the situation . I didn't expect any less from her.

Sure, being a prostitute is NOT a noble profession, however, Spitzer comes off worse, as he was trying to convey the image of "Moral Compass" as Governor of New York. I feel for the guy, however, no one is above the law, which he find out, and rightfully so.

Since so many people, famous or not, seem to have an issue with intimacy/intimate relations, etc, perhaps the question should be does prostitution need to be legalized?

She had layers? Stupidity must be one of the layers. If she didn't even recognize her own governor, how smart a girl can she be? She's gonna ride her 15 minutes of fame as long as she can. This is such old news now, who even cares anymore?

I think they are both wrong. She has a profession that is illegal, and he participated in the illegal act, neither is more at fault then the other. He has more responsibility to himself, the community, and his family then she does, but they are both human and made bad choices. We all do the same everday, maybe not on the same level, but we are guilty of it. Im pretty positive there are thousands of other politicans, and thousands of other prostitutes that have engaged in simlar acts, the only difference is that they did not get caught.

Why the hell is she sitting there looking angelic...bullsh*t. She's actually covered up trying to portray the victim. And how out of touch do you have to be to not recognize your own freaking governor. I don't believe the hype...layers...yeah whatever.

Both of them was wrong. Spitzer tried to portray moral compass and I thought he would make a wonderful governor for New York but like most politician...they tell you what you want to hear to get elected and then screw their own constituents. He deserved what he got for attempting to portray moral compass...basically in his case it was "the pot calling the kettle black." Pointing fingers and then axed from such a big position in NY...now who's the laughing stock. It will be very hard for him to ever build up a reputation again at least a good one while the # 1 call girl in America gets all the glory.

What moral values we have in this country?

Living in Vegas, Pros are everywhere. There are actually women that have normal day jobs (realtors, waitresses, etc) that have a nocturnal alter ego. Working in a casino, I see them hanging out every day. I think that you would be surprised at how prevalent this is in our society. I am NOT condoning the behavior but she gets painted red and he gets a slap on the wrist. The man paid for sex--he got the embarrassment he deserved. Seriously, though, what's with the outfit? At least Monica Lewinsky boosted sales of Club Monaco lipgloss after her interview!

What made me sick is that after she said she felt bad when she saw Spitzer's wife on tv (which she also said she didn't know who he was), she goes and tells this story that right before she got with him, she was with in a relationship married man (who ended up dumping her).. It pretty much negates everything she said.. If she knew who Spitzer was, she was going to do it anyway.. She needs to step out of the spotlight and stop playing the victim..

i think spitzer was the wrong. No, being a prostitute isn't my idea of great job. But she is owning up to her mistakes.she didn't intentially try to hurt someone. He in a way did. knowing if it came out, he would hurt is family very much
