I have been fostering kittens for the
aspca. When
kittens are brought in, they have to be put in cages until they are
old enough to be fixed. I take them home limit is four kittens or
two puppies. They are usually frightened. The first few days they
tend to not use the litter box. I have an older male cat who is
very gentle.
Mister mom (Bandit) teaches them how to
be kitties. I keep them until they weigh three pounds and then I
have to bring them back to be adopted. The purpose of keeping them
is to socialize them. They are shy when I get them. By the time
they leave they have run of the house, they are using their litter
box. It is sad to bring them back. When I do bring them back, I
take another litter of kittens. Before they get adopted they are
fixed and ready for a good home. It beats having to be in a cage
until they are ready for adoption. It is rewarding and fun.
fostering kittens.
You can volunteer to foster kittens or
puppies fo a shelter of your choice. you would be helping an animal
to get a new home because of being socialized. It has also helped
me in pet astrology because although the kittens are from the same
litter their
personalities are different.
