After all the celebrity ailments and premature passings this summer, we’re happy to finally have some good news to report: Samantha Who! Star Christina Applegate has confirmed that she’s made a full recovery from breast cancer. Yesterday on Good Morning America she spoke about her choice for a double mastectomy, despite only one of her breasts contained cancerous lumps. "I didn't want to go back to the doctors every four months for testing and squishing and everything," said Applegate. "I just wanted to kind of get rid of this whole thing for me. This was the choice that I made and it was a tough one.”

The the 36-year-old actress is now "absolutely 100 percent clear and clean" of cancer will undergo reconstructive surgery over the next eight months. "I'm going to have cute boobs 'til I'm 90, so there's that," she joked. "I'll have the best boobs in the nursing home. I'll be the envy of all the ladies around the bridge table."

The actress has always closely monitored the situation since her mother, Nancy Priddy, is a repeat breast cancer survivor. "If this had been caught a year from now, or when I was 40, I probably wouldn't be able to live through this.”

"Sometimes, you know, I cry," said Applegate. "And sometimes I scream. And I get really angry. And I get really upset, you know, into wallowing in self-pity sometimes. And I think that it's all part of the healing." Aww. Keep up the good spirit, Christina! We knew you could beat it. [OMG]

I would have done the same thing. I respect her decision and I am glad that she is going to be ok.

She did a brave thing. I am sure that her mother going through it twice was like Christina herself going through it . It probably terrified her . I'm glad she is cancer free with a good outlook.

She's my age. That's a scary thing. I try to check my breast as often as possible. I had an Aunt to pass away from breast cancer (Mom's sister)

I am glad that she took care of it right away. I love her! I think she is the funniest woman ever! They are just boobs! Its not like its her arms or something that you actually need to function. There purpose is breast feeding and astetics. At least she can get new ones. I am very proud of her for taking care of it all at once!

Christina made a personal choice, and I agree 100 percent. I would have done the same thing, and I will, if I am faced with that. And hey! on the positive side, Perky little boobs are so adorable.

I had a double mastectomy about a year ago because of breast cancer. I'm glad she's in good spirits and doing well. She will still have to go to a doctor every 3 months for check ups. In my situation, my cancer return and I was also told I was cancer free.
